Dahlbergh's ambitious project aimed to document Sweden's cities, palaces and natural wonders, providing an invaluable visual record of the country during its 'Age of Greatness'. The falls on the Dalälven were one of the great spectacles of northern Europe, frequently included in eighteenth-century traveller accounts.
