A detailed early eighteenth-century map of Björkö, a historically significant island in Lake Mälaren, Sweden, from a monumental work on Swedish history and topography.

Original Latin title: Genuina Delineatio Geometrica Insulae Björkön. Erik Dahlbergh. From Suecia Antiqua et Hodierna, Pl. 69. Published in Stockholm, c. 1710.

Suecia Antiqua et Hodierna was a grand project initiated by Erik Dahlbergh to glorify Sweden's past and present. This plate depicts Björkö, the site of Birka, a major Viking Age trading centre and one of the earliest known urban sites in Scandinavia, offering valuable cartographic and antiquarian insight.
