A finely engraved heraldic emblem depicting the historic coat of arms for the Swedish province of Närke, known in Latin as Nericia.
Original title: Insigne Provinciae Nericiae. Published by Homann Heirs. Nuremberg, c. 1750.
This print showcases the distinctive arms of Närke, featuring crossed arrows and four roses, symbols deeply rooted in Swedish regional history and heraldry. The Homann firm of Nuremberg dominated German cartographic publishing in the eighteenth century, and emblems of this kind were standard inclusions in their geographical and historical atlases.
Copperplate engraving. Sheet size approximately 29.0 × 21.0 cm. Very Good.
