A magnificent copperplate engraving of the principal façade of Tessin Palace, facing the Royal Palace and Stockholm's main square.

Designed by Nicodemus Tessin the Younger as both his own residence and an architectural manifesto, the palace presented an austere, Italianate stone front to the city, in studied counterpoint to the lavish parterre hidden within. Aveelen's plate became one of the most-copied images of Stockholm Baroque architecture.
