Kouba's work, often featured in comprehensive ornithological atlases, represents a high point in the scientific and artistic depiction of birds during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The White-tailed Eagle, with its imposing size and coastal habits, was a perennial favourite among natural history illustrators.
