Delafosse's Nouvelle Iconologie Historique compiled 110 allegorical plates pairing emblematic figures with architectural trophies. It served as a definitive sourcebook for architects, sculptors, and decorators, helping to codify the new Neoclassical vocabulary in France and disseminate it across Europe during the reign of Louis XV.
