Original title: Autorité. Doctrine. Drawn and engraved by Jean-Charles Delafosse. Plate 3 from Nouvelle Iconologie Historique, published by Jean-François Daumont, Paris, c. 1768.

Delafosse's Nouvelle Iconologie Historique compiled 110 allegorical plates pairing emblematic figures with architectural trophies. It served as a definitive sourcebook for architects, sculptors, and decorators, helping to codify the new Neoclassical vocabulary in France and disseminate it across Europe during the reign of Louis XV.
