An elegant chromolithograph of the 'Madame Verté' pear, presented with the polished finish for which Lauche's atlas is justly renowned.

From Deutsche Pomologie by Wilhelm Lauche, Plate 33. Published in Berlin, 1882.

Wilhelm Lauche's Deutsche Pomologie (1882–1883) documented hundreds of fruit varieties cultivated across the German-speaking lands. Its chromolithographic plates, printed by the firm of Paul Parey, set a benchmark for pomological illustration, combining scientific precision with a painterly sensitivity to colour and form.

Chromolithograph. Sheet size approximately 29.7 × 21.6 cm. Very Good.
