A charming country-house vignette in which a fashionable Parisian woman scatters feed for her chickens, turkeys and a brood of chicks.

The 'Parisienne en campagne' series treated the city woman's adventures in rural domesticity as a recurring social comedy, the poultry-yard standing in for the magazine's fascination with class and costume out of place. Bréjean's brisk decorative line keeps the scene firmly within La Vie Parisienne's elegant idiom.
