Delafosse was a leading figure in French Neoclassical design whose pattern books shaped interior decoration, furniture, and the decorative arts across Europe. His iconological plates combined architectural ornament with moral allegory, reflecting the Enlightenment preoccupation with virtue, vice, and civic conduct.
