A striking early eighteenth-century double-view engraving by Johannes van den Aveelen, depicting the important Swedish mining towns of Sala and Avesta.

Drawn and engraved by Johannes van den Aveelen. Made in Stockholm (Holmia), 1702.

This print offers a valuable historical record of two significant Swedish industrial towns at the turn of the 18th century, particularly highlighting the newly discovered silver mine in Sala. Van den Aveelen's detailed topographical views are characteristic of the Baroque period's interest in documenting urban and industrial landscapes.
