Adolphe Mouron Cassandre, was a leading exponent of French commercial graphic design during the Années folles. His bold geometric compositions and saturated palettes typified the Art Deco aesthetic that swept Parisian advertising in the mid-1920s, when cigarettes and rolling papers became symbols of urban sophistication and modern womanhood.
